From the Farm…
Many years ago, when my kids were little, I used to blog about food and ordinary life. Writing was a creative outlet for me—one I loved—but somewhere along the way, life got busy and I stopped.
It's been a lot of years since I've written anything just for the joy of writing.
But since March, I've spent more hours than I can count working by myself at the flower farm. There is a lot of peace and quiet out there (along with plenty of weeds, bugs, mud, and things that don't go according to plan!), and all that quiet has given me a lot of time to think.
And I've discovered that when you spend hours with your hands in the dirt and no one around but the horses and the flowers, a lot of things start rattling around in your brain.
So I thought maybe it was time to write again.
This little corner of the Petals & Pasture website will be part farm journal, part behind-the-scenes look at this flower-growing adventure, and probably part ordinary life. I'll share updates from the farm and more of the story behind Petals & Pasture, but I also want this to be a place to write about the things that growing flowers—and this particular season of life—have made me think about.
I don't know exactly what will end up here or how often I'll write.
And I think I'm okay with that.
For now, I'm just glad to have a place to put some of those thoughts again.
